Lo Scatolophon è un cordofono, costruito con una scatola di polistirolo da catering scolastico ed un elastico da uffico di quelli larghi solitamente di colore verde. Si suona percuotendo l'elastico o pizzicandolo. La sonorità ricorda quella di un contrabasso. Come negli strumenti ad arco, sfregando una bacchetta di legno sull' elastico a mo d'archetto è possilible produrre un suono lungo.
This is a Scatolophon chordophone, built with a polystyrene catering box and a strap wider than those usually green. Is played by hitting the elastic or pinching. The sound is reminiscent of a bass. As in string instruments, rubbing a wooden stick on 'by way of elastic headband is possilible produce a long sound.
