Di norma i pesci a più elevata concentrazione di mercurio sono i grandi predatori che essendo ai vertici della catena alimentare accumulano maggiori dosi della sostanza tossica. Quindi uno squalo o un pescespada "al mercurio" può essere pericoloso anche quando a morderlo siamo noi. La scultura, che rappresenta dei pesci che hanno ingoiato nella fattispecie delle schede elettroniche, vuole far riflettere del reale pericolo che andiamo incontro se non salvaguardiamo in maniera attenta e cosciente il mare dove ha avuto origine la specie umana.
